Apries (throne name Wahibre Haaibre), Pharaoh of the 26th (Saïte) Dynasty, r. c. 589-570 BC, attested on his own monuments (obelisks and temple building at Sais and Memphis); his overthrow and death in civil war under Amasis narrated by Herodotus, 'Histories' 2.161-169.
